Glazing services

Glazing service

We glaze your pieces

General information

You can choose among our 7 beautiful studio glazes, including our famous studio white.

We only apply one glaze per piece.

Our processing times vary but are usually around 2 to 3 weeks.

Prices:

11€ per piece (no matter the size). Firing costs are not included. See our firing service page for firing costs.

If you bring the piece to us to bisque and want to have it glazed, you will be charged for both bisque and glaze firing costs at the time of drop-off.

No need to book an appointment. Just come by during our opening times.

Please make sure to always bring proof that the clay used fits our firing temperature of 1240C (see firing service policies for more details).

Please note that the glazing service is not available for pieces made in our taster classes. All pieces made in our tasters are glazed with our beautiful studio white glaze.

How it works

Mark your pieces (either by carving or stamping your name). Unmarked pieces will not be accepted.

We will show you samples of the 7 glazes we have available so you can see them in person and chose the one you like.

We will mark the color you have chosen on the bottom of the piece (marking can sometimes be permanent or leave a faint mark).

We usually try to glaze the piece in its entirety (excluding the bottom, and leaving some space), unless it’s too shallow (like plates, low bowls or flat objects), in which case, only the inside will be glazed. We only apply one glaze per piece.

We do not bisque-fire pieces that are thicker than 2cm and not hollow.

We require proof that the clay is compatible with our firing temperatures (1240C). We will not fire wild clay or any clay that did not come from a commercial package. If you have used engobes or any other surface decoration, you also need to show us proof of compatibility. Due to engobes altering the effect of the glaze, the results may be unpredictable.

the fine print

disclaimer

We do not take responsibility for damages to your pieces that may occur in the firing.

It is the nature of ceramics that the results are not always 100% the same or exactly like the ones in the samples. We are experienced at glazing but there is always an element of surprise.

If you bring in pieces for firing with clays that do not come from our studio, we highly recommend you have private liability insurance as damages to our equipment can be costly.
